What the app stores

Nothing of its own. The app has no database and keeps no merchant, customer or visitor data.

When a merchant opens the app, it checks their plan with Shopify and saves one true-or-false Pro flag on the app's own installation record in Shopify. Shopify removes it when the app is uninstalled.

On your storefront

The ticker reads blog posts through Shopify's theme Liquid on the merchant's own storefront. It sets no cookies and makes no network requests. If the merchant turns on the close button, the shopper's browser remembers that they closed it in session storage until the tab closes; nothing is sent anywhere.

Billing

Paid plans are billed by Shopify. The app asks Shopify whether your store has an active plan and doesn't see or store payment details.

Retention

The app keeps no data of its own. Ticker settings are saved in the merchant's theme by Shopify and are removed with the app's blocks.

Data requests and deletion

The app responds to Shopify's mandatory privacy webhooks for customer data requests, customer redaction and shop redaction. Because it stores no data, there is nothing to return or delete. For privacy questions, email editor@digitaladvisors.com.au.
